Membership is open to any individual or organization.  All are welcome to attend our monthly board meetings at the Library.  

We welcome VOLUNTEERS too. We have a variety of projects and events that may interest you. (You do not have to be an official member to participate in our projects; we welcome helpers; please come as you are able.)

Let us know your interests, or how you'd like to help, and we'll connect you with a relevant project or put you on an list to be notified when the next opportunity occurs (e.g., annual Mini Golf fundraiser in April, or a future Comic-Con event, or when the Library asks us to assist with outreach, advocacy, or a special event).  

NOTE: We are in transition, reorganizing from an independent nonprofit corporation to a less formal, more flexible structure that will operate under the auspices of the Holyoke Public Library Corporation (HPLC), which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The Friends will have a voice on the HPLC Board, and act as a committee that coordinates volunteer efforts to support the library. 
 
Until 2018, payment of annual dues (at a level of your choice, $10 or higher) was the way to be an official voting member of the Friends. For 2018, we are not requesting dues payments, nor would they be tax-deductible.
 
If you want to send money, we recommend donatiing directly to the Holyoke Public Library, 250 Chestnut St, Holyoke, MA 01040. Such donations are eligible for tax deduction.
