FRIENDLY KITCHEN AT THE SALVATION ARMY

Our church prepares a lunchtime meal every other month to approximately 40 people in need of a hot meal.  The Salvation Army in downtown Laconia serves as the center for this outreach to the community.  Volunteers are always needed to coordinate menu selections, make phone calls, cook or bake food items and serve lunch on Fridays at 12 noon.  Coordinators are needed for the months of March, May, July, September and November, 2011.  Please contact the Church Office at tel. 524-0668 or Alida Millham if you would like to volunteer.

STITCHES OF LOVE

"Shawls ... made for centuries universal and embracing,

symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God.

They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace,

mother, hug, shelter and beautify.

Those who have received these shawls have been

uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to

fly above their troubles..."

This busy and committed group meets weekly to knit and crochet prayer shawls, baptism blankets, mittens, hats, and many other items.  These items are given to people both within the church and in places far away to offer support and comfort in difficult times.
